'Prominent' DC character to be gay
copy and pasted from MSN - didn't see anything using the search function, so sorry if this is already posted somewhere
A 'prominent' DC comics character will soon be gay
Your favorite DC Comics character might be gay. In an interview at the Kapow Comics Convention, DC Comics Co-Publisher Dan DiDio said that a "prominent" DC Comics character will soon come out of the closet, reversing an earlier statement where he had said DC was more likely to insert a new LGBT character than "out" an existing one. Twitter users have cited Aquaman and Wonder Woman as the most likely candidates. They won't be the first gay characters in comics, though. "It's sad when DC is playing catch-up to Archie. And the entire comics industries of Japan and Europe," tweeted @Joe_Hunter. Once they start catching up, though, it could happen in a Flash.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Isn't Aquaman married to Mera or did the "new 52" wiped out their marriage too? There is Apollo and Midnighter who are gay, then there is Batwoman. Cue the Jeopardy music!

No way, Dick Grayson and Kyle Rayner are the two biggest ladies men in the DCU....
I think they're going to go with Cyborg...for the main reason is they want to show something a little different and drum up some short lived media hype.

I wonder if it will be an "A List" character or somebody like Booster Gold or Guy Gardner.

For some kind of reason, I feel that its used as a marketing gimmick which is unfortunate to me. I don't want characters who were once "straight" and then turned gay all of a sudden just to attract LGBT readers. I'm all for diversity when its done right. I became an instant Batwoman fan when I read Batwoman Elegy. How the way she was outed while at West Point prior to the repeal of DADT was handled with such care, sensitivity, and realism. Its comic book storytelling at its finest.
Whichever DC character becomes gay, I wouldn't be surprised to read many homophobic, ignorant comments.
