I NEED TIPS ON HOW TO SPOT A FAKE IRON MAN COMIQUETTE

Hey buddies, need a little help.

I'm due to complete a cash on collection deal on an Iron Man comiquette from a private collector this Sunday. It is the Red and Gold exclusive version.

Now, I know their have been a few threads around the forum on how to spot a fake but since I'm just on a crappy mobile broadband connection (slower than dial up!! ) for the next 3 months, I wanted anyone with knowledge on this subject to chime in and help me to recognise if I am picking up a genuine or a fake on Sunday.

Luckily I will have this chance to view the statue before making payment so I want to make full use of this opportunity. I don't have any pics to show you but any advice given would be very much appreciated.

My current knowledge on what to look out for is as follows;

........................................

....and thats it!

Thanks in advance!

Hahaha... The paint is the easiest to spot. The gold is much darker on the fake and very light on the real one. If you have the LSB, the real statue gold color should be very close to the LSB's mask.

Packaging is usually the easiest way to spot one.

If the styrofoam inserts look like crap then it is certainly a fake.

Authentic-His left hand should be as high as the top of his head and straight back.
Fake-Watch for the left arm being lower than the top of his head(maybe chin level) and the arm won't be directly behind him. (it sticks out to the left)

Authenic-Yellow paint is dull/Flat..Red is a Deep Candy Red.
Fake-Yellow sometimes is glossy, Red is usually more fire engine red than candy red.

Authentic- Brass rods for neck pegs
Fake- Aluminum rods.

Authentic-Gray Styrofoam packing
Fake-White Styrofoam

That's what I know. If I remember any more I'll let you know. Sorry, I don't have pics for comparison. Sometimes certain things are better than normal on a fake but, just look at it. Authentic pieces are High quality and have a rich candy red/slightly maroon paint. If it looks at all cheesy, it's probably fake.

As many as it takes to protect myself and others from spending huge amounts of money on a dud.

Thanks for these! It would have taken me forever to search for these on my current connection.
