We went to see Spiderman this afternoon.
I took a pic of the Dark Knight marquee. Like I said, it is rated G in Montreal.
You guys had me thinking I was seeing things!

I finally got out to see it. Not easy with two young kids...
I was entertained and enjoyed the movie. There were some things I didn't care for as far as artistic licensing. I didn't really like the way Bane was portrayed and I thought that Anne Hathaway was pretty forgettable as Catwoman. Overall I thought it was a fun movie but I liked the first two a lot more.

My second viewing was IMAX. Large portions of the movie were filmed with an IMAX. I too was awed by the IMAX sequences. I think I enjoyed IMAX experience over what the 3D done in the Avengers. Personally I think 3D is overrated.

I read about 2/3's of it, and good point... they don't even mention that the Joker wasn't released. They ignore that entirely in the movie, out of respect for Ledger... I guess?
The whole prison's released except for a Master (insane) Criminal?
Great stuff, though... finishing it later.

Correct! I read a Nolan interview where he specifically said that he didn't want to trivialize Ledger's death with a line or two in the movie to explain what happened to the Joker. He preferred to just leave it out entirely.
Found an excerpt:
Quote:
|
Out of respect for the late Heath Ledger; no reason is given whatsoever in the film for his absence. Christopher Nolan was adamant that there would be no mention of the Joker. "We're not addressing The Joker at all. That is something I felt very strongly about in terms of my relationship with Heath and the experience I went through with him on The Dark Knight . I didn't want to in any way try and account for a real-life tragedy. That seemed inappropriate to me. We just have a new set of characters and a continuation of Bruce Wayne's story. Not involving The Joker." He is neither seen, heard, nor mentioned throughout the whole film. In the novelization of the film, it is suggested that the Joker is now a lone inmate at Arkham Asylum.
