Oh man, Sideshow's cape SUCKS!

Wow, thanks for posting those pictures of the exclusive - but I cannot believe SS didn't upgrade their cape to match the one in the film. I have the exclusive on order but I'm pretty dissapointed in SS. Attakus's cape is bang on and looks amazing. SS dropped the ball on the cape HUGE. What the hell is with that picture they have on their site then? The one on the SW page that links to the order pages? Weird. This sucks, because I really preer his look with the cape on - I mean, a robot wearing a cape? C'mon, that rules.....

Hey Fergus, the reason the cape looks so good on the Attakus is that it is made of polystone, not cloth. It's easier to mold and paint match something to look correct, than to actually manufacture and stich/sew a piece of cloth to look like it. Also, with polystone, you can give the cape 'life-like' movement, where as a piece of cloth is just going to hang there. It's not fair to compare a cape of stone to a cape of cloth.

Sure it is. The cape on the SS Vader looks far better than any other out there. The clothing on all the SS pieces, for that matter, look better than their fully sculpted counterparts. Attakus got the inner cape right, and SS could have but didn't. The SS GG cape is still nice though, just not what it could have been.

I agree. The cape should be more of a quilted material, not simply stitched to try and replicate one. The colour is off too. Looks cartoony. My guess is that they got ahead of themselves in the manufacturing of the cape - maybe even locked the design for manufacture before the movie even came out. I think they first posted Grievous before the movie? I don't know, $450 US - which is like $550 CDN - and the cape isn't bang on? That sucks Sideshow.

Sorry for dragging up an old thread, but I have the chance to get the regular version, but the cape makes it for me... Does anyone here have a spare cape? Broken statue, prefer it without etc.

If anyone has, hit me up with a private msg on how much you would want for it

No need to apologize. Its always nice to see people actually utilize the search feature rather than create an entire new thread.

Good luck finding a cape. Might be kind of hard though. And you're right it does "make" the statue. Since I have my camera out I snapped a quick shot of mine.

If worst comes to worst, think I'm going to order the regular and make the cape myself. £199.99 isnt bad I don't think (incl delivery)

Still, if anyone has a cape I'm still interested!
