I do remember stating that premium format figures don't instantly necessitate the use of real fabrics. As there seem to be somewhat of an argument as to premium formats not being such if they did not utilise fabrics.

Premium format figures are exactly what they suggest. Sideshow utilise the best (premium) materials in the production of the piece for the best possible outcome. Whether that be metal, polystone, plastic, etc.

For example, The Creature from the Black Lagoon is a premium format figure, yet the figure is produced entirely of polystone. The only reason it qualifies as such is due the the use of plastic and wires in the plantation located on the base.
