This is true, unless the licensor forces changes. Iron Studios makes some great stuff, especially at 1/10, but their 1/4 pieces are more hit & miss.

I'm sure the lighting and low quality picture is not doing this any justice. I expect it to look a "little" better with high quality promo pics. Still not hyped for this tho.

Ohh and the one-liner is 100% true (this is indeed a fully sculpted abomination), so again...

Yes it might very well be the harsh lighting on the piece (which can make any piece look like plastic), and obviously it’s not totally in focus either, which may be obscuring sculpted details that are getting washed out.
It might still disappoint, but I simply don’t know why people post photos of this quality. Especially given how collectors instantly pounce on perceived issues.
But if you’re a collector who simply hates statues in simple museum poses, then obviously even better quality photos won’t change anything for them.

I collect both full-sculpt and mixed-media pieces. My post was only meant to convey how silly I think the debate between the two has become. It's a case-by-case situation. Only a Sith deals in absolutes...
There's no way this looks better than the recent SS PFs though, no matter what pejoratives (plastic, action figure vs doll, etc.) are thrown around.
My prior post could have used the above context, as you wouldn't have known unless you are familiar with my post history.

Yeah MM vs All Resin is an end result situation. So you really don't think this looks like Bantha poo-doo? Cause I do.
I guess once statue producers have so much sunk costs invested they plow ahead with offerings like that to at least try and recoup some of the costs.
Personally I would have abandoned this and not have shown it at all.

Oh, I guess I misspoke. I should have said " mostly meant to convey...", instead of " only". I do agree - this doesn't look very good.

Another fail from Iron Studios 1/4 Star Wars line. Seriously every 1/4 piece they put out has been terrible. Please, make it stop...
