Clay's point about subtlety vs. frying pan approach is excellent! I agree, as a consumer, that this only serves to add more power to a sculpture compares to when you're hit over the head with a representation of the character's abilities in action.

Great Job Dawg! Thanks to Clay for taking the time out to talk to us. I am one of those you mentioned that likes a piece because he sculpted it, not because of the character. The flip side is that it makes me want to learn about the character.

Same here.
I've got a fairly solid collection of Moore pieces, and very few of them are characters whose comic book stories I've read. I buy 'em and collect 'em simply because Clay is THE best sculptor of females in the biz. His sculptures are truly works of art.
How can you NOT love and collect his stuff?

It's a shame the decision-makers at DST were unable to grasp this concept. Nothing against the talented Mr. Greenwell, but Clay's renditions of Rogue and She-Hulk would have blown Sam's away!
I definitely prefer the classic (and classy) "museum-style" poses to "action" poses. Action poses almost invariably come out awkward and contrived.
