I love getting the prelims to finished pieces I own. I'm usually not too big on them if I don't own the finished piece though. Here's the few ones that I have.

Emma Frost Prelim Stephane Roux

Birds of Prey #108 Prelim by Stephane Roux

Emma Frost #5 Cover by Greg Horn - Technically this is a prelim, because he used it to setup the final piece which he did digitally, even though it's really not.

Emma Frost Prelim by Michael Dooney

Emma Frost Prelim by Ale Garza

Hey Gerry,

I do enjoy seeing this type of prelim as it lets you get a glimpse of the artist's creative thoughts. Love the Paul Smith thumbnails and concept pieces - great stuff!

I've attached a few prelims including -

Adam Hughes She-Hulk Prelims

Adam Hughes Wolverine & Nexus Prelims

Mark Schultz Xenozoic Tales Collection Cover Prelim

Best,

Royd

Very very cool!

Do you have the finished pieces already? I would love to see them side by side the sketches to see where the artist went with the concepts and how things evolved.

Hey Vin,

Hopefully Gerry will show us his beaut finished commissions from those prelims.

Meanwhile here is a prelim of Paul Renaud's Hannah Dundee with the finished piece beside it

Best,

Royd

Best,

Thanks Royd!!!

it is cool to see how the art evolved. He changed the angle and body structure of the little Dino at her feet. It definitely changed the attitude of the creature. In the prelim he is at her feet looking up at her as if to get her attention like a puppy would. And in the actual art he is staring back as if he were scampering by with a group of other dinos. One looks as if he were a pet and the other a chance occurrence.

Very Cool!
