It would be very expensive and difficult to do it because of how distinct animations are in Darkstalkers. You can have characters be expanded like a balloon, have their eyeballs popping out cartoon style, turned into the opposite sex, burst into flames, etc... with tons and tons and tons of unique sprites that are used for only one or two instances. Modern Capcom lacks the soul to be able to do it. They'd just use the RE Engine and create some hideous Netflix adaptation looking Darkstalkers with terrible animation. Their best bet is hiring Arcs Systems Works to do it, but I think even they would struggle with this one. People underestimate the animation and variety in Darkstalkers spritework. It is super impressive even today.

Thanks for all the interest and discussions, guys. Just something note for those hoping it to be 1/4, this 1/3 takes up about the same space as a 1/4. We'll just leave it at that for now. Wait till you see the full reveal.
