The base is cool, but makes no sense. That would be an explosion. This looks like magic and or fire. Reminds me a lot of Starfire hair.

Agreed, this is a pass from me as well, sigh, maybe Mystique will be good.

Ugh, no thanks.
Was looking forward to this one, but I hate the base. It would have been better with gambit just standing. And like others have said, it looks like Rogue had a stroke.

Art is subjective, right? And these statues are based on comic book characters, in most cases cover or pin up art which can get interpretive.
That being said, after the latest Batman PF’s cape/smoke/bats merging thing and now Rogue and Gambit floating on a pile of energy, I can clearly say I’m a fan of being practical when it comes to sculpts rather than the sculpt having any metaphorical, interpretive, conceptual BS in it. Like, Batman is not supernatural, his cape shouldn’t be forming out of smoke and bats because “he’s one with the night” or whatever the product page says. Gambit and Rogue’s clothes are about to blow completely TF off if we take this base literally. Need proof, check X-Men ‘97 episode 5 where his clothes are mostly off after the fact, except pants for obvious reasons, but even then they’re badly damaged and his shoes and socks are gone.
These are comic book characters so saying “realistic” isn’t appropriate, so I’ll say just don’t include things on a statue that wouldn’t actually happen with the character or make sense within the actual comic pages. In this case like said, they would’ve been better both standing, or Gambit standing and Rogue floating into him, with an actual ground beneath them.

I'm not a fan either. But, I guess that's great it is only coming in 1/5 because it makes it the easiest decision all year.
Please, bring on Mystique.

With their previous 2 dioramas also being made in 1/4 scale; that might just have seriously hampered interest in this piece.

I really think a full on kiss was the way to go here...too steamy for SS I guess. I think this'll sell though.

Kiss would have been perfect. Doubt SS had any qualms but maybe licensor restrictions or factory production nightmare.
