Collecting prints is defiantly not for me...

Not sure why you would come to this conclusion considering the fact that the VAST, and I do mean vast, majority of artists/companies don't play the BS edition games that we have seen in the comic market these past few years. I could understand if you felt that way about collecting comic prints as that industry in general has some serious issues, but all of the other artists in the other genre's of the print market have very high respect for editions and again would never jepordize their reputation or future print sales by producing multiple editions down the line that would significantly effect the value of their prints.
In regards to return on investment, the limited edition print market puts other collectible markets to shame most of the time. Again you just have to weed out the bad from the good and at this point its a pretty safe bet categorizing the entire comic print market as bad.
All in all, its just a shame that you would let one segment of the market give you such a low opinion of the market as a whole, but your entitled to your opinion, just as I am entitled to mine. If limited edition prints aren't for you then I guess they just aren't for you. Nothing wrong with that. There are plenty of other collectible markets to put your interest in.
And for the record, some of the largest gains, value wise, that I have had in collectibles have been in the limited edition print market. I got screwed with my Michael Turner prints, but I have invested in many other artists over the last 20 years including John Sexton, Ansel Adams, Robert Batman Etc. I have a rather large collection of John Sexton prints, most of which I purchased for roughly $300 that are now worth $1500 to $3500 each.
My advice to you would be to ditch the comic print market and give other segments of the market a go. Don't write off an entire genre of collectibles simply because of some piss poor moves made by comic companies. But ultimately the choice is yours. If your giving up on limited edition prints then I wish you the best of luck with whatever other markets you might dive into!
