I'm a HC guy, but even HC's you gotta wait for the collected editions.

I already have the trades but If I was patient enough this month and next month they are releasing the HC full size collections of Brubakers stuff.
Incognito this month criminal 2 next month and sleeper in november

I will be double dipping because its some of my favorite stuff but you get my point.

For things like Scalped, Fatale even Uncanny Xforce the individual trades are out but I'm waiting for the oversized\bulk HC's. In the mean time I read them digitally because its cheaper than singles and because theres bulk sales from time to time.
If you can hold out, that's definitely the way to go. Plus, nice thick hardcovers are just cooler. Are they more durable? I've noticed trades feel pretty fragile these days. Open them up to read a line close to the spine and hear that cracking noise and you just know it's not long before pages start falling out. Not sure if that's the case with HC too.

The absolutes and Omnis are built to last
well most of them are.
my absolute long Halloween and dark knight
are sturdy as can be.
But my Justice and Hush Absolute feels a bit fragile I can see the pages falling out in time.

Marvel Omnibus's are the best though
I don't know how they make them so well but so far so good with me.

IDW\Image\Dark horse all print with similar HC setup (pretty sure they are the same) they seem pretty solid. However I abuse the use the hell out of my Dark Horse Blacksad book and I hear cracking in the pages all the time so it scares me.

Vertigo seems like the cheap spines you would find on the everyday hardcover but so far so good.

Only ever had one of my books start falling apart and ultimate spiderman HC
I think its just a fluke when it does though.

Finished a couple books yesterday.

Incognito book 1 Brubaker can't miss. Another fun read and good start to a new series. Not exactly what I expected, but really enjoyed it.

Batman Earth One. Pleasantly surprised. I didn't know what this was, but I'm on a Batman kick. Nice alternate reality story so far. It's always fun to see a young Batman screwing up and getting his butt kicked. Johns has a nice writing style and Frank's art is just glorious.

Reading the New 52 Batman HC right now. I'm liking Snyders writing and Capullo is a master.

Incognito gets even better in volume 2!

I read the first volume of the latest Swamp Thing series and was blown away! I'm dying to get the next volume. The story is great and Yanick Paquette draws a beautiful book!

Finished the Court of Owls Batman HC. I really enjoyed it. I can safely say I'm a fan of Snyder's work. He has a nice style and he's an easy read. Sucks that it ends on a cliffhanger, but it's real good. Strong writing and a fantastic art team. I don't know anything about "New 52" but for Batman anyway, it seems to be the Batman I know and love.

Just finished The Joker. Excellent! Azzarello tells a great story and Bermejo puts his balls into every panel. This book was fantastic.
