Jason Statham weekend -

Meg 2 - 5/10. Is what it is. Over the top ridiculousness with not enough cool sequences.

Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre - 9/10. Quite the surprise. Thoroughly enjoyed. Guy Ritchie and Statham combine again for a Mission Impossible type scenario. The comedy throughout is well placed. The other actors shine as much as Statham.

Retribution 7/10

It was a fast paced, gripping film. The Film was 90 minutes long but it felt like the Film was 2 minutes long to me... I was like ''it is over already, man, it feels like it just started 2 minutes ago, has it really been 90 minutes... wow'' but the ending was kind of an anticlimax.

Hocus Pocus (1993) - A teenage boy named Max and his little sister move to Salem, where he struggles to fit in before awakening a trio of diabolical witches that were executed in the 17th century.

Despite the large following this movie has, it was much too silly for me. 5/10

I agree, and would go so far as 8/10. Just incredible.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny - 7/10

Raiders of the Lost Arc is one of my favorite movies of all time. I remember seeing it in the theaters when it first came out, I believe summer of 1980, and being just blown away by it. None of the sequel measured up, though the third installment was passable. This one still did not measure up BUT it managed to capture enough of the feel and magic of the original, with bona fide throwbacks from the original, to make it truly enjoyable.

After so many recent busts lately (Thor: Love & Thunder, Dr. Strange and the multi-verse of Madness, GOTG, Ant-Man Quantumania, The Flash, Voyage of the Demeter, just to name a few), this was a pleasant surprise.

John Wick 4 - 5/10

the ridiculousness was amped up too much on this one.

I watched this on a plane ride to Miami and I found it funny that they muted out ALL of the curse words (even a$$) on this extremely violent movie. how weird is that? lol

See, I thought that was half of the fun of John Wick 4. Let it all hang out, which is a tall order for movies what have been doing that since the beginning. I also liked the callbacks to older movies.

It is funny what is censored. I can watch a person get shot up and stabbed, but damn if I can’t hear a cuss word or see some boobies

Strange Way of Life (2023) - After twenty-five years Silva rides a horse across the desert to visit his friend Sheriff Jake. They celebrate the meeting, but the next morning Jake tells him that reason for his trip is not to go down the memory lane of their friendship.

It's a short film (30 minutes) which I felt had more story to tell when it ended. 7/10

Equalizer 3 - 7/10
Pretty good but that battle in the hurricane from part 2 really set the bar high.

Saw X - 6.5/10
Really solid story for a Saw film. Ending could have been better though.
